Hunters Hill
This front garden renovation of a private residence in the Sydney suburb of Hunters Hill has been designed and built by Art in Green to be in keeping with the "60's Modern" style of the home. Combining the newly constructed stone walls with the existing elements of grey brick edging and the concrete path and steps. The stone walls were built using existing stone reclaimed from the site and hand shaped to give a look fitting to a 60's stone wall. The planting continues with the style of the 60's but brings some modern style as well. Old fashioned varieties such as Hydrangea and Daphne combine with a range of other species connected by a sea of Bromeliads under a canopy of existing trees retained in the garden. A number of plants were either retained or transplanted from the original garden, including the sea of Bromeliads. The result is a garden that fits so beautifully with the existing home it looks as though it were the original garden.
